'Unwritten' featured on Bedingfield's debut album, which reached Number One in the UK Charts following its release in 2004, an album which also included hits 'Single', 'These Words', 'Wild Horses', and 'I Bruise Easily'.

In 2006, the track was used as the theme song for MTV's reality TV series, The Hills. It also became Bedingfield's first Top Ten hit in the United States, reaching Number Five on the Billboard Hot 100.

The track also saw Bedingfield nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Album of the Year at the 49th Grammy Awards.

'Unwritten' currently remains in the top 20 having enjoyed a recent resurgence, after it appeared in the ron-com Anyone But You, starring Sydney Sweeney, and Glen Powell, which also saw it go viral on TikTok. It re-entered the chart back in January for the first time in 19 years.

“I’ve had songs in movies before but this time I really love the way it’s been used in such a special way that it makes you feel joyful. People are actually singing it as they leave the theatre!", Bedingfield said of the track's recent resurgence.

“Over the years ‘Unwritten’ has somehow become an anthem to sing at the top of your lungs. This makes me the happiest girl in the world as I have always felt that a good pop song is actually something you can belt. Like a good football song!”.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of this track, Natasha Bedingfield has also announced a special headlining show at London's KOKO on September 12. Tickets will go on general sale this Friday May 3 at 10am BST.
