The delay to the opening of the National Children's Hospital again until 2026 is being described as "a fiasco"

Sinn Fein is accusing the contractor, the Government and the Taoiseach of failing to deliver the project.

Construction costs continue to spiral to 2-point-2 billion euro.

Sinn Fein's health spokesperson David Cullinane says Simon Harris must take responsibility for the delays:

"The contractor does need to step up to the plate and deliver the project, but ultimate responsibility has to be born by Government - has to be born by the Taoiseach - who is head of a Government who has presided over this fiasco when he was Minister for Health and is now presiding over this fiasco as Taoiseach. And I think scandalizes people that this project just goes from crisis to crisis"
