Dry & Bright Today With Rain And Showers Expected Later This Week

Met Éireann have said that the frost and ice which built up overnight, will clear to bring dry and bright conditions during the day.

Met Éireann have said that many areas across Ireland are to experience low winter sunshine , along with light southwest breezes. Temperatures are to range between 6 and 9 degrees. 

Tonight will see temperatures remain at 6 degrees, which will be slightly milder than last night, with the east to experience the coldest and clearest conditions, with temperatures to fall to 0C, with frost developing in some places.

While it will be a bright start to the day, cloud build up will eventually lead to rain moving down from the northwest for Wednesday. Highest temperatures to remain between 10 and 12 degrees.

Wednesday night will clear following some rain in the south and east of the country. Temperatures are to drop below freezing between -1C and 2C.

The national forecaster have also said that breezy and mild conditions are expected for the rest of this week, with outbreaks of rain expected for the Atlantic counties.

Thursday is to see mild temperatures of 10 and 12 degrees, with the country to remain dry, with sunny spells. However, Atlantic counties are to see cloud with patches of mist and drizzle.

Thursday evening will see rain and drizzle moving across from the west, with an overnight chill coming to an end, with temperatures staying between 9 and 11 degrees.

Friday is predicted to be dull across Ireland, with outbreaks of heavier rain in the west and northwest. Humid conditions are also expected, between 11 and 13 degrees.

The weekend is to see rain and heavy showers in the south of the country, with sunny spells expected further north.
