Liam and Noel Gallagher have announced Croke Park dates as part of Oasis' comeback tour.

These shows will take place at the venue on 16 and 17 August next year, with tickets going on sale this Saturday 31 August at 8am via Ticketmaster.

The band will also perform in Cardiff, London, Manchester, and Edinburgh.

"The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised", Oasis have said. They also added that "plans are underway" for the tour to go to "other continents outside of Europe later next year".

Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher also said that the band's UK and Ireland leg of this tour is "the band's exclusive European appearances".

This announcement will be music to the ears of Oasis fans, who have been pleading for the Gallagher brothers to put aside their feud and reunite the band.

Oasis famously split up in 2009 following a backstage row between the pair at the Rock en Seine Festival in Paris.

Rumours of this reunion had gathered pace recently following an apparent mending of fences between the brothers.
