Taylor Swift To Play First Wembley Stadium Show Since Vienna Terrorist Plot

Taylor Swift is to take to the stage at Wembley Stadium tonight as part of her ongoing Eras Tour.

This show is Swift's first gig at the London venue since her three concerts in Vienna were called off, following a recent terrorist plot, which has led to the arrest of three suspects.

Police confirmed that a 19 year old was arrested for planning to attack fans with knives and homemade explosives. The young male's home was raided by police, who found chemicals and substances made for explosives. It is understood that the male was Austrian with North Macedonian roots.

It was also confirmed that a 17 year old with Turkish and Croatian roots was also arrested this week, with both suspects becoming radicalised online, and pledging allegiance to the Islamic State leader terrorist organisation ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria).

Tonight's gig is the first of five consecutive sold out shows from Swift at the venue, and will wrap up the European leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour, which has included a huge three night run at Dublin's 3Arena in June.

Ahead of these shows, London's Met Police have said that there is no indication that this recent terrorist plot in Vienna would impinge these London shows. They said that they would "continue to keep any new information under careful review". 

A guide has been placed online for fans attending these shows, with Wembley saying: "Additional ticket checks will be in operation at points in and around the stadium prior to entry". 

Fans who do not have tickets will not be able to gather outside the arena on the night, which is a common practice among fans known as "tay-gating". 

As part of these security measures, overnight camping has been banned, bag size has been limited, as well as the banning of laptops, along with iPads, umbrellas, aerosols, glass and metal containers.

Taylor Swift who has yet to comment on the recent cancelled shows in Vienna, will be joined on the London gigs by Holly Humberstone, Raye, Paramore, and Suki Waterhouse.
