Hannah Waddingham To Perform National Anthem At F1 British Grand Prix

Actress Hannah Waddingham is to perform the national anthem at the upcoming British Grand Prix.

The racing event which takes place next month from July 4-7, will see Waddingham perform the national anthem, as part of a line up which will also include Kings of Leon, Rudimental and Stormzy, designed to make the British Grand Prix a Summer highlight for the sporting and music calendar.

In a recent interview, Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham has said that she feels "deeply privileged", to sing the national anthem at the Silverstone race track on July 7, adding that she is "immensely proud" of her British roots. 

“It’s the most enormous ‘pinch-me’ moment to perform the National Anthem ahead of this year’s race", she said. “I feel deeply privileged". 

“The atmosphere and excitement at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix last year was utterly electric and I can’t wait to be a part of it again", the stage and screen actress continued. “I am immensely proud of my British roots and I will remember this honour all my life". 

Waddingham also revealed that she will be cheering on each British driver at this race including: "mighty Lewis (Hamilton), George (Russell) and Lando (Norris). C’mon Chaps! Let’s do this!”. 

Along with Ted Lasso, Hannah Waddingham is also known for starring in Game of Thrones, and Sex Education.
