Household figures in the entertainment world have reacted to Donald Trump's guilty verdict in a New York court.

Former US President Donald Trump was found guilty of all 34 counts of falsifying records, to cover up hush money payments made to adult film actress Storm Daniels in the lead up to the 2016 presidential elections.

These hush payments were made to Ms Daniels, in order to keep quiet about an alleged sexual encounter between her and Mr Trump.

Trump had always denied these claims.

“will never accept responsibility”

Following this, key figures from the world of entertainment have been reacting to this news.

Singer Barbara Streisland wrote: “Convicted felon Donald Trump is blaming the judge, the jury and New York for being found guilty on 34 counts. He will never accept accountability for his crimes. Americans must not allow this felon anywhere near the White House again”.

Elsewhere, Wonder Woman star Lynda Carter also added this message.

“34 is now my favourite number”, she wrote, in reference to the 34 counts that Trump was convicted of. While Stephen King added: “The Republican candidate for President is a convicted felon”.

High profile journalist Piers Morgan called the verdict a “massive overreach”, and “obviously politically partisan action” for “something so trivial”.

Following the ruling, Donald Trump’s eldest son Donald Trump Jr, also wrote this on social media.

“The Democrats have succeeded in their years long attempt to turn America into a third-world shithole. November 5 is our last chance to save it”, he said.

Donald Trump himself continues to maintain his innocence, calling the verdict "rigged", and a "disgrace".

He said: “We didn’t do a thing wrong. I am a very innocent man. It’s okay, I’m fighting for our country, I’m fighting for our constitution. Our whole country is being rigged right now. This was done by this Biden administration in order to wound, to hurt a political opponent”.

Re-emphasising that he would be running for the White House again, Trump added: “The real verdict is gonna be November 5th by the people. They know what happened here, everybody knows what happened here”.
