An emotional Jennifer Aniston spoke about the legacy of Friends, thirty years on from its premiere.

Aniston, who found fame as Rachel Green on the 1990s US sitcom, addressed the show during the latest episode of Variety's Actors on Actors YouTube series.

"Oh god, don't make me cry", said a visibly emotional Aniston after a person off camera told the show's host Quinta Brunson to ask the actress about Friends.

As Aniston wiped away her tears, Quinta Brunson assured Aniston that they did not have to speak about Friends

"Sorry, I just started thinking about … I’m okay, it’s happy tears", she insisted.

Speaking about the first episode of the sitcom, which aired in 1994, Jennifer Aniston added: "It’s so strange to even think that it’s 30 years old".

She continued: "I remember the day that it was going to premiere on television, on NBC. Me and Matthew Perry were having lunch somewhere, and we knew Lisa was getting her hair coloured".

"So we ran into the hair salon, and I snuck up — she was in the sink hair bowl — and I took the nozzle from the guy that was supposed to be doing it and just started washing her hair".

"It definitely flew out of control, and that was unfortunate. But the excitement we had, and it feels like yesterday", she explained. "The fact that its had this long, wonderful life and it still means a lot to people is one of the greatest gifts I think all five of us — all six of us — we never could imagine".

(Jennifer Aniston starred in the sitcom alongside the late Matthew Perry in Friends from 1994-2004).

Jennifer Aniston starred in the sitcom alongside Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt Le Blanc, David Schwimmer, and Courteney Cox.

Her interview with Brunson comes months after the death of Matthew Perry, who starred as the sarcastic Chandler Bing in Friends. While his death was originally ruled to be an accident, LA Police recently announced that they were working on an "open investigation" into the 54 year old's death.

Jennifer Aniston also added that she had spoken to Courteney Cox on FaceTime the night before this interview, and regularly meets with Kudro "and the boys".

"It’s a family forever", she stated.
