London's Met Police have announced that Taylor Swift's upcoming shows in London will not be affected by the Vienna terror plot.

Last week, Swift's shows in the Austrian capital were cancelled following a terror plot, which led to the arrests of two suspects, including a 19 year old male, whose house was raided by police who found chemicals and substances made for explosives.

Taylor Swift is scheduled to return to London for five more live shows, having previously played three sold out shows at Wembley Stadium back in June. These upcoming shows will also see Swift supported by Suki Waterhouse, Raye, Holly Humberstone, and Paramore.

Following recent events, speculation has mounted that the recent terror plot in Vienna may put these London concerts in doubt.

However, a spokesperson has insisted that this is currently not the case.

“The Met works closely with venue security teams and other partners to ensure there are appropriate security and policing plans in place", they said in a statement. “There is nothing to indicate that the matters being investigated by the Austrian authorities will have an impact on upcoming events here in London".

They added: “As always, we will continue to keep any new information under careful review".

"many lessons must be learned"

Speaking ahead of these shows, London Mayor Sadiq Khan had this to say.

“We are a capital city, we are an international city, on a regular basis we host major events, whether it’s concerts – Bruce Springsteen was most recently at Wembley Stadium – we’re looking forward to welcoming Taylor Swift back", she said.  “We have a huge amount of experience in policing these events, we’re never complacent, many lessons were learnt after the awful Manchester Arena attack".

“I’m sure Vienna has got its own reasons to cancel the Taylor Swift concerts, we’re going to carry on, working closely with police (and) ensuring that the Taylor Swift concerts can take place in London safely".
