Gardaí, investigating the suspected murder of eight year old Kyran Durnin, have been searching a house in Louth.

Investigators say It was his family home up until earlier this year.

Last week, Gardaí confirmed they have launched a murder investigation following Kyran Durnins disappearance, who is missing, presumed dead.

And this morning, they began a search of a private house on Emer Terrace in Dundalk.

The house, garden and grounds adjoining the property are being searched and technical and forensic examinations were carried out.

Gardaí have also confirmed that Kyran, who would now be eight years old, attended a local national school in Dundalk up until June 2022.

Speaking this morning, Superintendent Alan McGovern said their main focus now is finding the boy.

Superintendent McGovern said the people currently living in the house are not connected to eight year old's disappearance.
