Chris O'Dowd Joins Cast Of New Season Of Black Mirror

Irish actor Chris O'Dowd is to join the cast for the new series of Netflix show, Black Mirror.

The IT Crowd star is to join Sideways and Holdovers star Paul Giamatti for the new series, which was created by Charlie Brooker, with the new series running for six episodes.

A video was posted by the official X account for Black Mirror showing a computer error, followed by a list of names, and random sentences, which also included the following message: "Black Mirror. An error has occurred. To continue press enter to continue installation or press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart your computer". 

"If you do this, you will lose any unsave information in all open applications", the message also added. "Press any key to continue". 

When the system reboots, a list of names also appears on the screen in alphabetical order, which includes O'Dowd, Crazy Rich Asians star Awkwafina, How I Met Your Mother actress Cristin Milioti, Succession’s Harriet Walter and Barbie star Issa Rae.

Other cast members include Giamatti, American Fiction's Tracee Ellis Ross, Parks And Recreation's Rashida Jones, as well as Emma Corrin (The Crown), and Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who).

It also includes phrases such as: "Too soon?", "Lonely old place isn’t it", "A rose for a rose", "oh dear - is the entire internet wrong?", "who drank my almond milk?", "hardly in the spirit of the game" and "I’ll be yours forever more".

The words 'exit game' also appears on the screen. 

Creator Charlie Brooker's name also features on the screen, alongside executive producers Annabel Jones, Jessica Rhodes, and Bisha K Ali.  

The previous seasons of the show have starred Bryce Dallas Howard, Jon Hamm, Letitia Wright and popstar Miley Cyrus.

Series seven is currently shooting in the UK and Canada, and will return to Netflix next year. Further information about specific episodes and characters have been kept quiet for now.
