Parts of Munster Under Orange Snow Warning

A status orange weather warning will come into place this evening in parts of Munster.

14 counties are under a snow and ice warning over the next 24 hours.

A Status Orange alert has been issued for five counties in Munster, with significant snowfall expected.

The whole country is under a status yellow low temperature ice warning from 8pm tonight.

From 9pm, a status yellow snow ice warning kicks in for Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Wexford, Wicklow, Munster, Galway- with snowfall accumulations expected.

Then from midnight Clare, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford are under a Status Orange - Snow-Ice warning where significant snowfall accumulations are anticipated, with very difficult travelling conditions and disruption and delays to public transport likely.

 

Temperatures dropped to around -3C in places last night, with more of the same expected.
