A man aged in his 50s, has since been arrested, and has been taken to a garda station in Youghal for questioning, as Gardaí also search a premises in the area.
Tina Satchwell met her husband in Leicester where Richard is from, with the couple spending most of their married life in Fermoy, co Cork, where she grew up.
Approximately 18 months before she disappeared, Tina and Richard sold their Fermoy home, and moved to Youghal. Her mobile phone was also left at home.
Tina's sister Teresa Dungiven has insisted that she would not get up and leave without a trace.
"Tina would never walk away from family. No, never," Ms Dingivan said. "It is upsetting not knowing, wondering where she is, is she safe, does she have enough money. It does go through your head".
This month saw a search conducted of the Youghal shoreline by the Garda Water Unit, while the Garda Divisional Search Team also searched an area of wasteland in the town.
Last March marked the 6th anniversary of Tina Satchwell's disappearance, with Gardaí issuing a fresh appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
"Any new information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, will be welcomed by the investigating team", they said in March.
