Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a hit-and-run in Cork. It happened shortly after 7 o'clock this morning in Ballyvolane. Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the scene on the North Ring Road this morning.
The driver of the car who hit the pedestrian failed to remain at the scene near Dunnes Stores in Ballyvolane. The pedestrian, a woman in her 30's, was taken to Cork University Hospital to be treated for non life threatening injuries.
Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the area between 6.40am and 7.10am this morning are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
"Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a road traffic incident involving a car and a pedestrian, that occurred at the North Ring Road, Cork City, on Monday 20th January 2025, at approximately 7.05am.
The driver of the car failed to remain at the scene. The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 30’s, was conveyed to Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
The scene is currently preserved for technical examination. Investigations are ongoing. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
