Orange And Yellow Warnings Issued As Met Éireann Warn Of Very Difficult Travel Conditions""

A Status Orange warning has been issued for County Cork, taking effect from 6pm this evening, until 6pm Friday. Localised flooding is expected, according to Met Éireann, who have also warned of "persistent and heavy rain", leading to “very difficult travelling conditions". 

Meanwhile, a Status Yellow warming had been placed for 12 other counties across Ireland for the same time period, including Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Wexford, Wicklow, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford.

This evening is expected to see heavy showers, which will spread northwards throughout the the evening.

The forecaster has also predicted some unsettled weather for the next few days, with some spot flooding expected in parts of Munster and Leinster. Temperatures are expected to reach as high as 15 to 18 degrees.

Following a mainly dry morning with dry spells, persistent rain is to develop in the south, heavy rain is to spread northwards in the evening. It is expected to get heavy in Leinster and Munster especially.

Lowest temperatures this evening are set to stay between 9 and 12C. 

This weekend is to see sunny spells, with some light rain set for the east on Saturday. The best of the sunshine is to hit the northwest, with highest temperatures of 15 and 17 degrees.
