The council have issued a warning of "significant risk of flooding", via their X account. They also revealed that the emergency services are carrying out door to door visits along the estate.
They have also warned local residents "to be alert to the possibility of rapidly unfolding events in the coming hours".
The emergency services are also meeting Midleton this morning.
Niall Healy, the director of Roads and Transportation at Cork County Council has confirmed that Midleton has not reopened, while a traffic management system is in place along the Main Street.
He also added that the Woodlands Estate, which has around 20 houses, is a major cause for concern "in terms of potential flood damage", while a crew have also been on standby overnight, looking at the flood risks.
Healy did reveal that while the N25 road from Cork to Waterford has reopened, road infrastructure has been damaged, "in the way of road subsidence, and roads have collapsed, in some cases roads have been washed away by the force of the water".
The overnight Status Yellow warning which was put in place in Cork, Kerry, Limerick, and Waterford has now expired.
It was also confirmed that another Status Yellow Warning was put in place for in Louth, Dublin, Wicklow, and Meath, with possibly thunder forecasted.
