A man is in a serious condition in hospital this morning following a crash involving two cars in Co Cork yesterday evening.
The driver of one car – a man aged in his 20s – was fatally injured in the fatal collision near Cecilstown, northwest of Mallow.
Gardaí and emergency services rushed to the scene after the collision occurred at approximately 5.10pm.
The driver of the second car, also aged in his 20s, is being treated at Cork University Hospital for treatment. His injuries are described as serious.
The road has since reopended and a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
