The two city centre streets will close to traffic each weekend of the trial, beginning on Friday evenings, as the city caters for a pandemic enforced "outdoor summer."

Between 6.30pm and 11.30pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, no vehicles will be granted access to the streets, with parking allowed until 6pm only.

LUAS services will not be disrupted, however diversions will be in place for Dublin Bus routes 69, 79 and 79a.

The closures come as part of moves to cater for outdoor dining and drinking in the city centre, with restaurants, cafés and pubs reopening for outdoor service only from this week.

The trial will also see several other streets fully or partially closed to traffic for the six-week period. These include:

Parnell St, from Ryders Row to Capel St.

Little Britain Street, from Campbell's Court to Capel St.

Mary Street, from Jervis Lane Upr to Capel St.

Mary Street Little, from Angelsea Row to Capel St.

Mary's Abbey, from Aran St to Capel St.

Essex Gate, from Exchange St to Parliament St.

Capel St and Parliament St disabled bays will be relocated to Swift's Row, Ormond Quay and Fishamble St, with two remaining on Capel St between Bolton St and Ryder's Row.
