If you’re looking for some fun date night activities, look no further than Dublin 8. The Culture Date with Dublin 8 festival is taking place this weekend and is sure to bring a bit of excitement to the date.

The Festival, running May 14 and 15, is a neighbourhood initiative aimed at celebrating the district’s rich cultural, historical and architectural heritage.

From medieval history and modern art to children’s Lego hunts and walking tours, a program of more than 30 cultural events will take place across Dublin’s West side community.

There will be a good focus on free family-friendly events.  Many of the area’s most popular visitor attractions are opening their doors for the Culture Date with Dublin 8 festival. These include Dublinia, Kilmainham Gaol, Richmond Barracks, Christchurch Cathedral, Marsh’s Library and the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA).

There are loads of events on this weekend.

There is a whole host of activities taking place across the two days. On Saturday, families can enjoy a Lego hunt in Marsh Library. Or if that’s not your thing, you can partake in a walking tour of the Liberties.

You can find all of Saturday's Culture Date events here.

The events will continue on into Sunday. Sunday looks just as packed with free events and activities on the day including Phoenix Park tours and self guided tours of Cabbage Patch Graveyard in Portobello.

You can find all of Sunday's events here.

The area which is rich in culture and hot spots, is voted as the 15th coolest neighbourhood globally. The poll was carried out by Time Out.

The Culture Date with Dublin 8 initiative is to encourage people who are “living, working and visiting the area to explore what is on their doorstep”.

They have even created a map so that you can navigate the events easily.

So if you're looking for some fun this weekend, look no further than Dublin 8.
