Gardaí from the Divisional Drug Unit at Kevin Street Garda Station, working alongside the Divisional Crime Task Force, arrived at the residence in Ringsend, Dublin 4, at approximately 6pm yesterday. Under warrant, a search was conducted of the property.
The search of the residence uncovered a considerable quantity of controlled drugs.
Seized by gardaí were cannabis resin valued at €30,000, cannabis herb valued at €30,000, Xanax tablets valued at €40,000, Diazepam tablets valued at €20,000, and cocaine valued at €3,000.
The seized drugs will be subject to analysis Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).
Close to €14,000 in cash was also seized at the man's home.
Following his arrest, the man was taken to Kevin Street Garda station, where he is currently being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
The search was conducted as part of An Garda Siochana’s national anti-drugs strategy, Operation Tara. The aim of the operation is to disrupt the activities of drug trafficking networks involved in selling, supplying and distributing controlled drugs in Ireland and internationally.
Investigations remain ongoing.
