The incident happened at about 1am in the Talbot street area
A man in his 30s was seriously injured in an assault in Dublin City in the early hours of this morning.
The injured man was taken to the Mater hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition today.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the serious assault. a technical examination of the scene has been carried out and investigations are ongoing.
