This comes following an increase in Asylum seekers sleeping rough outside the International Protection Office along Dublin's City Centre, following the decision by the Government to stop providing State accommodation to International protection applicants.

The people who have been living in tents, are being moved as part of an operation carried out by the Department of Integration, Department of Justice, Dublin City Council, gardaí, the Office of Public Works, and the HSE.

In a statement, the Government have said that the operation is to facilitate the "safe movement" of people from tents.

The statement also revealed that this operation will see people moved to accommodation which will have toilets, and showers, health services, indoor facilities where food is provided. They will also have access to charge their phones, and personal devices, as well as access to transport to and from the city centre, and 24 hour onsite security.

No details were given regarding where they will be accommodated.
