Move over Enchanted, there’s a new movie in town. A street in Dublin was transformed into a set for a new Netflix film starring Liam Neeson.
The street was made to look like it was straight out of the 1970’s for the upcoming thriller.
The film which is entitled “ In the Land of Saints and Sinners” will also star Ciaran Hinds and Colm Meaney.
Neeson is playing a retired assassin who gets involved in some drama with a group of terrorists.
Action for the Netflix film got underway on St Georges Avenue in Drumcondra yesterday. Large crews worked away at making the street resemble 1970’s Dublin, which featured some very retro looking cars.
The street had been closed off to the public for the production.
The Netflix film has previously been filming in Donegal for the past month. It’s going to be set in a remote Irish village.
This film will see the Taken star reunite with The Marksman director Robert Lorenz. The screenplay is written by Terry Loane and Mark Michael McNally.
According to IMDB the Netflix film is a story of redemption: "In a remote Irish village, a damaged Finbar is forced to fight for redemption after a lifetime of sins, but what price is he willing to pay? In the land of saints and sinners, some sins can't be buried."
No word yet on a release date for In the Land of Saints and Sinners.
Neeson and Hinds previously worked together in Martin Scorsese's film Silence (2016) and John Boorman's Excalibur in 1981.
