It has been reported, the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) is reconsidering its plans to build an observation deck.
Popular with the public for 30 years, the current site, is at Collinstown Lane, known as "The Mound."
Recently, Fingal County Council requested additional information on 18 different aspects of the proposal, which the DAA submitted to formalise an informal viewing point.
Among the council's concerns are the need for a traffic survey of the adjacent road, a complete tree survey, and whether the DAA can provide toilet facilities at the site.
The DAA is reportedly frustrated by what it perceives as excessive bureaucracy, given its intention to enhance an already popular spot for aviation enthusiasts.
The proposed plan includes the construction of an elevated and sheltered viewing platform with seating and tables, as well as 22 parking spaces, including provisions for disabled individuals and families.
