Christopher Nolan's acclaimed biopic, which recently earned five Golden Globes, is also up for Best Director and Best Film while Robert Downey Jr is nominated for Supporting Actor and Emily Blunt is in the running for Supporting Actress.
The other half of last summer’s ‘Barbenheimer’ box office phenomenon received five nominations. Barbie stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are up for Leading Actress and Supporting Actor respectively.
Poor Things is second in overall nominations with 11. This includes Emma Stone for her lead role playing Bella, a Victorian-era woman brought back to life by a scientist in a bizarre manner.
Stone won Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical at the Golden Globes for her performance, among seven total wins for the film.
Saltburn's Barry Keoghan has been shortlisted for Leading Actor, with Rosamund Pike and Jacob Elordi also nominated for their supporting roles.
Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon earned nine, with Leonardo DiCaprio surprisingly not making the shortlist.
The Zone of Interest also earned nine.
Paul Mescal is nominated for his supporting role in All of Us Strangers, the romantic fantasy also starring Andrew Scott. The movie is also up for Outstanding British Film, as are Napoleon and Wonka.
Bradley Cooper is a double-nominee, with recognitions in acting and directing for Maestro, the biopic of famed conductor Leonard Bernstein.
The Bafta Film Awards 2024, hosted by David Tennant, will take place on 18th February at the Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall in London.
