The national forecaster has said that the east of the country is to receive the best of the sunshine, with temperatures to stay between 8 and 11 degrees, dropping to -1 and 3 degrees overnight. As for this afternoon, sunny spells have been predicted, with scattered showers expected for this evening.

These showers are expected to die off early tonight, with long clear spells following. A touch of frost has also been predicted.

Saturday morning will see sunny spells, and isolated showers in the east, and northwest of the country. These showers will become more scattered as they move across Ireland, with temperatures reaching highs of 9 to 12 degrees, before dropping to -1 to 3 degrees.

Saturday night will be dry but chilly, with scattered showers to return on Sunday, as cool temperatures are set to continue throughout the day. Temperatures will remain between 9 and 12 degrees with light northwest to west winds.

Met Éireann have also predicted outbreaks of rain to develop in the west, spreading eastwards overnight with some locally heavy falls, especially in the west and southwest.

As for Monday, it will remain wet and cloudy with widespread outbreaks of rain, which may turn heavy at times, spreading across the country in the morning.

Monday evening will bring showers, with temperatures hitting highs of 9 to 12 degrees, before dropping to between 3 and 7 degrees overnight.

The national forecaster also expects another wet day for Tuesday, with further spells of rain, turning heavy at times in the south. Highest temperatures of between 9 and 13 degrees have been predicted.
