A Status Yellow low temperature and ice warning was in place for Ireland until 11am today.
Tonight will be cloudy with rain developing in the west early on and spreading eastwards across the country overnight.
It will turn milder as the rain arrives, with temperatures rising to between 4 and 7 degrees overnight, with some blustery winds.
The forecaster has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for the entire country on Sunday as Storm Isha moves across the island.
The warning will come into effect at 11am on Sunday until 6am on Monday.
Rain and strong gusty southwest winds, reaching near gale force, are expected to cause significant coastal waves, difficult travelling conditions, with debris and loose objects displaced.
Heading into next week, Monday will bring blustery winds with sunny spells and scattered showers - some heavy with a chance of hail. Highest temperatures will reach 5 to 9 degrees.
“Current indications suggest that there will be a brief spell of drier weather on Wednesday but it will remain unsettled for the rest of the week with further rain and breezy conditions,” Met Éireann said.
