Galway City Council is launching an exciting project to explore local priorities to help shape the future of Salthill Village and Seafront.
Throughout 2025, the project team will be out and about in Salthill and getting in touch with local community, business and leisure groups in connection with Urban Design and Engagement specialists, Allies and Morrison.
A number of engagement events are planned for February. The first event will be to meet with the Salthill business community on Thursday 6 February from 4:00pm to 6:00pm in the Salthill Hotel.
All members of the business community are invited to come along to share their views on Salthill. On Friday 7 February from 11:30am to 1:30pm, the project team will be at Blackrock to meet with the swimming community.
All swimmers are invited to come along to share their views. Later in the month, a drop in event is scheduled for Friday 21 February from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Salthill Hotel to meet with local residential communities. All residents are invited to drop in to talk to the team.
The following day, Saturday 22 February from 10:30am – 4:00pm, a pop up consultation event will be held along the promenade. All members of the public are invited to drop by to talk with the team.
Students from University of Galway will also be present. They will be asking people along the prom to undertake a short survey which will inform the project. This survey will also be available for people to complete online.

Engagement is at the heart of this process, and I encourage everyone to take the opportunity to get involved and have their say.”

Consultation will be ongoing throughout the development of the Framework Plan with additional events organised throughout the year.
