Search efforts have resumed in Galway Bay for a missing swimmer, a woman in her 30s, who was last seen at Silver Strand.
She was reported missing after failing to arrive for her job as an Irish Language Development Officer in Spiddal around 1 p.m.
In a separate search, the body of 74-year-old Johnny Duhan, a legendary Irish folk musician, was recovered earlier in the day.
Duhan, celebrated for his influential role in Irish music, was known for "The Voyage," a song that holds an enduring place in the nation’s folk canon.
His long career as a singer-songwriter and guitarist produced a wealth of music, marking him as one of Ireland’s cherished musical figures.
The search for the missing woman, who went swimming in the same area, continues as rescue teams remain on alert.
