It comes as the college deals with a Higher Education Authority review into oversight issues.

2-thousand-500 students at the University of Limerick are currently on a waiting list for on-campus accommodation.

Over 18 thousand students attend the university, but there are les than 2-thousand-900 beds on the campus.

The high demand has led to increased calls for management to address the issue and prioritise the planning for purpose built homes.

Students have been seen trying to sleep in bathrooms, in cars and other places within the universities campus, in order to keep up with their studies.

A protest has been organised on the UL campus for tomorrow (Thursday), calling on management to take immediate action to protect students.
