Billboard have named Beyoncé the greatest pop star of the 21st century.
Explaining their choice, the publication pointed to the fact that Beyoncé had managed 12 Billboard Hot 100 number one singles, from Destiny Child's 'Say My Name', and Cowboy Carter's 'Texas Hold 'Em'.
She also boasts 10 Billboard 200 number one albums, including two from Destiny Child, as well as her 2003 solo record, 'Dangerously In Love'.
According to Billboard's Andrew Unterberger, the publication chose to honour Beyoncé “based on her full 25 years of influence, impact, evolution”.
Unterberger also added: “She’s been *BEYONCÉ* for 25 years now, and as she continues to challenge herself (and by extension, the rest of the pop world) to find new and different ways to be define greatness, it doesn’t seem like she’s going to stop being *BEYONCÉ* anytime soon".
Last week, Yale University also announced plans to introduce a course on Beyoncé. More on this story here.
