Beyoncé's father has rejected claims from Donald Trump that the singer was booed at a political rally.

This comes after Beyoncé took to the stage at a rally in support of Vice President and Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris, ahead of this month's election.

As well as aiming a string of insults at her, Republican candidate Donald Trump claimed at one of his recent rallies in Wisconsin, that the crowd booed her.

"They got Beyoncé," the former President said. "They said, 'Beyoncé's coming to sing', and she came, but she didn't sing. And then, Kamala came on as Beyoncé was leaving without singing even one song, and they (the crowd) booed the hell out of both of them".

However, Trump's claims were dismissed by Beyoncé's father Mathew Knowles, who called them a "lie".

"I can unequivocally say no one was booing," he said. "That's just a lie. Everyone has the right to have their own perspective, but they don't have to right to lie".

Instead of performing a range of hits at Harris' rally, Beyoncé made a speech to the crowd, focusing on women's rights and her hopes for the future of the United States.

"I'm not here as a celebrity, I'm not here as a politician. I'm here as a mother", she said. "A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we're not divided".
