Bobbi Arlo has been named as Ireland's first artist in the running to represent the country at this year's Eurovision Song Contest.
Arlo who says that she is a "huge fan" of the contest, will compete alongside five other acts in the Eurosong final, which takes place on The Late Late Show Eurosong Special on February 7, to see who will represent Ireland at the Eurovision.
"I'm a huge Eurovision fan first and foremost. There's been such a Bambie [Thug] effect where other countries are sending acts similar to them. It's really inspiring", Arlo said in a recent interview.
"It was so insane for an act like Bambie to be sent in the first place because it was so different to what Ireland normally sent".
Elsewhere, Arlo also claimed that the music industry is "so vast and so diverse", adding: "I'm excited to be the next step in that".
When it was put to her that people are referring to her as "Bambi Thug's daughter", Arlo chuckled: "I love that!".
Bobbi Arlo's status as a rising star in Irish music circles has gathered pace, having been nominated for Song of the Year at the RTÉ Choice Music Awards for her track, Feel It.
The singer was named Gay Times & Coca-Cola Artist of the Year in 2024. She also sold out shows in Dublin, performed at several high profile festivals, including Primavera.
The 2025 Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Basel, Switzerland in May.
