The streaming figures for artists Carrie Underwood and Nelly have taken a slump, after the pair performed at Donald Trump's inauguration last week.
Underwood performed the song, 'America Is Beautiful' as Donald Trump was sworn in as American President for the second time, succeeding previous President Joe Biden.
This performance went viral, with a technical glitch meaning that the country singer had to perform the track a cappella. Check this performance out here.
Following this, it emerged that Underwood's material was streamed 1.46 million times, which was down from 1.55 million the previous week.
Meanwhile, Nelly who also performed at the inauguration, saw his streaming figures decrease. On the day of the inauguration, Nelly's music was streamed 1.54 million times, which was down from 1.63 million a week earlier.
Elsewhere, both artists also saw a decrease in digital download sales, with both failing to make 1,000 downloads that day.
Ahead of the inauguration, Carrie Underwood faced strong criticism over her decision to perform at the event.
However, actress Whoopi Goldberg defended the singer's choice to perform at Trump's inauguration.
“People do what they do for whatever reason,” she said. “I gotta stand behind that".
She added: “I stand behind her. If I believe I have the right to make up my mind to go perform some place, I believe they have the same right. I have to support. It doesn’t mean I’m particularly interested. I won’t be watching, but that’s just me".
