Five star J Brown has admitted that he "never" thought that he would reunite the band.

The pop star whose real name is Jason Paul Brown, has said that his "prayers had been answered" when the band decided to get back together.

The boyband, which also comprises of Sean Conlon, Ritchie Neville, Abz Love, and Scott Robinson, will reunite for a huge UK tour, which kicks off in October.

This tour will see Five open up with a show in Brighton on October 31, before going on to play in Bournemouth, Cardiff, Nottingham, Liverpool, Manchester, London, Newcastle, Aberdeen and Glasgow. Tickets go on sale next Thursday (March 6).

"quite stressful"

Speaking about this upcoming reunion, J Brown said: "A few years back I went through a personal thing that was quite stressful and it just brought up a load of stuff".

“I was overcome with sadness that I was never going to do this again", he added. “Around five weeks later Abz messaged and said: ‘I really need to speak with you.’ It was like I had put a prayer out to the world and he answered it".

J Brown was not part of Five's previous reunion back in 2013, with bandmate Abz Love revealing that he did not know where he was.

"I didn’t know where J was. Is he alive? Has he still got his phone? I just threw out a text and he responded", Love said.

Despite admitting to have been "in pain" during the band's heyday, Brown insisted that his bandmates have been like "brothers" for almost 30 years, adding that his love for them has "never ever" waned.

"Were there times I told my family I was p****d off or I was in pain? Yes. And I made comments myself", the popstar said. “But these guys have been my brothers since 1997. The amount of love that I have for each one of them has never ever changed. It’s too strong a bond to be broken".
