In a new interview, Geri Halliwell-Horner has spoken about the possibility of new music from the Spice Girls, as well as questioning the "relevance" of Madonna's new material.
Speaking on the Times Radio podcast Off Air with Jane and Fi, the musician was asked if the group would ever reunite to create new music.
In her interview, Halliwell stated that ultimately, it would come down to "relevance", and whether or not the band felt it would be right to get back into the studio.
Comparing the idea of new material to the recent material released by Madonna, Halliwell said: “If it felt relevant [then we would], but if not, either way is OK".
“I always come from a fan perspective,” she continued. “Let’s say Madonna, right? I’m a massive Madonna fan. I would say I want to hear ‘Holiday’ and ‘Into the Groove’, but I love ‘Ray of Light".
“Have I connected to her latest stuff? No…But she has every right to do that as an artist. It’s the relevance. So if it felt relevant…”.
Back in March, Halliwell's former Spice Girl bandmate, Mel B said that she would love to reunite with the band for another tour. Find out more on this here.
