Robbie Williams has landed his 15th number one studio album, with his 'Better Man' soundtrack, tying him level with The Beatles.

The former Take That singer holds the record for most UK number one albums from a solo artist, and he is now level with the Beatles in the all time chart.

As it stands, Williams has 20 number one UK albums, including his work with Take That in the 1990s, before he embarked on his solo career. He currently ranks behind Beatles icon Paul McCartney, who has 22 UK number albums, including his work with the Beatles, Wings, as well as his solo career.

"a huge honour"

Reacting to this news, Robbie Williams shared this press release.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported the album and the movie. What a huge honour it is to get my 15th UK Number One album", he said.

"A special thank you to all my fans, whose support I never take for granted. I’m so proud of the film Better Man so to have the soundtrack album reach Number One makes it even more special".
