Shania Twain Inspired To Record Another Album Later This Year

Loading

Shania Twain recently starred in a new advert for Nestlé brand Coffee Mate, and the experience reminded her of how much she wants to record more music. The slightly strange ad is to be aired during the Superbowl ad break this Sunday 9th February and the 59 year-old country-pop superstar said that getting into character for it gave her a renewed sense of enthusiasm for recording music, hinting at an album on the way.

The ad in question is for Coffee Mate’s 'Cold Foam Creamer' in a can, and features two men watching the Superbowl, and dispensing Cold Foam Creamer directly from the can into their mouths, where Shania takes centre-stage as a dancing tongue. Yes, you read that right. The scene cuts to a stage-lit tongue voiced by Twain, singing a “boppy, poppy song” that marketing executives wrote. She told Variety in a recent interview: “You have to have a good sense of humor when you do something like that”, adding that the project has given her ‘the itch’ to return to the recording studio.

The “That Don’t Impress Me Much” singer is currently completing her 10 month-long residency ‘Come On Over’ (titled after her 1997 album of the same name) at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, which runs until 8th February 2025. Tickets are still available, and $1 of every ticket purchased will be donated to the ‘Shania Kids Can’ foundation, which provides services for children in times of crises and economic hardship. The foundation focuses on areas such as mental health, youth empowerment and food insecurity for under-served youth.

Looking ahead from the Las Vegas Residency, she has a tour planned across North America in July.

With six albums released and more than 100 million albums sold worldwide, Twain remains the top-selling female country pop artist of all time. Understandably, a break is on the cards after the proposed 2025 tour. Twain revealed to Us Weekly: “I am ending my live stage chapter for a little while, while I start my new chapter of making an album.” In an interview with Bustle, she said: “Right now, all I’ve got are a million ideas, and I need to wander around and explore until I land on where I’m going. I’m hoping it’s something unexpected but embraced by my fans. I want my fans to feel like ‘Oh my God, this is so Shania, but one that we never knew existed.’”

Twain’s last studio album was 2023’s ‘Queen of Me’ and when asked by Bustle what her favourite song was to sing live, she settled on “You’re Still The One” (1997). “It strikes a chord in many people’s lives and stories; it’s all about hanging in there in all circumstances and how even the most unexpected love can prevail. So it remains very true to its core for me as a songwriter, and that’s when [I know] a song just is genuinely timeless.”

If such old favourites are anything to go by, it would be fair to say Shania's new album will not disappoint (whenever its release date may be!).
