Unearthed Tina Turner Track Hot For You Baby Set For Posthumous Release

A previously unearthed song from the late Tina Turner, Hot For You Baby, is to be released as part of a special 40th anniversary edition of her breakthrough album.

A special 40th anniversary edition of this album, Private Dancer is to be released, featuring Hot For You Baby. This album was nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards in 1985.

The album also features tracks, Better Be Good To Me, and What's Love Got To Do With It, both tracks were also received Grammy nods.

The track was written by Australian composing pair, Harry Vanda and George Young, as well as being produced by John Carter, who had previously with Turner on her Private Dancer album.

Private Dancer Tour

Other unreleased tracks will also be included on this special edition, as well as live performances and footage. Such footage includes a 55 minute Private Dancer Tour show, filmed from two shows performed by Turner at Birmingham's NEC across two nights in March 1985 during the tour.

The concert also features David Bowie and Bryan Adams, and was directed by music video director David Mallet.

Upgraded music videos are also included on this edition, with Private Dancer fully restored to HD, from its original 35mm film. The liner cover also includes insights from American songwriter Holly Knight, The Human League's Martyn Ware, as well as Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips.

Tina Turner was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, in a career which also saw her garner 12 Grammy Awards. She also received the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018, as well as three Grammy Hall of Fame awards.

The 'Simply The Best' singer passed away in May 2023 aged 85, after a long illness. More on this here.
