Miley Cyrus paid a sweet tribute to Sinéad O'Connor with a live cover of the late singer's hit, 'Nothing Compares 2 U' at the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special.
The singer performed the hit with Brittany Howard on stage, on a night which also included live performances from Paul McCartney, as well as a live cover of Simon & Garfunkel's Homeward Bound from Paul Simon and Simon Carpenter.

Nothing Compares 2 U was originally written by Prince, and released by O'Connor for her second studio album, 'I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got', which arrived in 1990.
Two years later, O'Connor drew controversy when she famously ripped up a photograph of Pope John Paull II, as she said "fight the real enemy", following a live performance of Bob Marley's 'War' on SNL.
O'Connor was calling out sexual abuses in the Catholic Church, with her public outburst leading to her being banned by the show, and ridiculed in several sketches, as well as being hugely criticised by actor Joe Pesci the following week.
While on the show, Joe Pesci said that he would have given the Irish singer "such a smack", over her comments regarding the Catholic Church. More on this here.
Sinéad O'Connor died in 2023 aged 56.
