Dublin Lord Mayor James Geoghegan says businesses and residents that don’t have space for individual wheelie bins, will have until January 1st to make alternative arrangements like communal bins or other containers;
Dublin City Council is adding more cleaning staff, litter wardens and road sweepers, with plans to extend the bin bag ban to more areas over time.
Over the next three months, DCC will also expand the area of the city centre that receives a 24-hour cleaning service.
DCC is also undertaking an €8.5 million enhancement and upgrade of the waste management fleet, including 22 new sweeper vehicles.
