Today, the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre celebrates 15 years as an iconic home of world-class entertainment in Ireland.
The theatre first opened its doors on 18 March 2010, and since then, it has welcomed 7.5 million visitors, who have watched a wonderful range of Broadway and West End classics, including The Book of Mormon, Hamilton, Chicago, Jersey Boys, SIX, The Phantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins, Disney's The Lion King, Wicked, Les Misérables, and Angela's Ashes: The Musical.
The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre has also hosted an impressive line up of A list icons, including: Janet Jackson, Julie Andrews, Ian McKellen, Bono, The Cranberries, Sting, Herbie Hancock, Al Pacino, Tori Amos, Brian Wilson, Chris Hadfield, Plácido Domingo, Bernie Sanders, William Shatner, Tony Bennett, Angela Lansbury, Katherine Jenkins, Joanna Lumley, Joan Baez, Michael Parkinson, Steve Coogan, Robert Plant, Kraftwerk, Cynthia Erivo, and Idina Menzel.
To celebrate this milestone, a special photocall took place with General Manager Stephen Faloon, and Head of PR and marketing Claire Whelan, and featured a celebration cake and a striking '15' installation. It continues to welcome more than a half a million visitors per year with an amazing programme of dramas, musicals, dance, opera, comedies, and family entertainment.
To celebrate this milestone, the theatre has launched a new social media campaign #BGET&ME, where audiences past and present can share their favourite theatre moments.
Fifteen finalists will be selected, and will see their stories transformed into artworks and projected into 15 iconic landmarks across Ireland, as part of a nationwide celebration. One lucky winner will win the amazing prize of a year long pass to the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, granting them access to some of the biggest shows that 2025 has to offer.
