Over 700 jobs are to be created by a medtech company based in Galway.

Aerogen has announced a €300 million investment strategy, set to create 725 new jobs over the next decade. The expansion will aim to rubberstamp the company’s status as a global innovator in respiratory care while boosting Ireland’s medtech sector.

Operating from its Dangan headquarters, Aerogen has grown at  20% every year, for the past 10 years. This scaling plan will focus on advancing its cutting-edge nebuliser technology, driving product innovation, and seizing new global market opportunities.

The investment will see Aerogen’s global workforce grow to over 2,000 employees, with more than 1,100 roles based in Ireland.

New positions in R&D, manufacturing, science, and engineering will be distributed across its Galway and Shannon facilities, reinforcing Ireland's position as a medtech hub.

Aerogen’s drug delivery devices, which treat critical respiratory and other illnesses, have been deployed in hospitals and emergency services worldwide, helping over 25 million patients.

Aerogen’s CEO emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation and global healthcare impact, stating, “This investment reflects our vision to lead the way in transforming respiratory care for patients worldwide.”
