Met Eireann has issued a red weather alert for the majority of counties in the country for the end of this week.
It comes as storm Eoywn tracks towards Ireland. Originally, the red warning affected counties Cork, Limerick, Clare and Kerry from 3AM on Friday morning, until 10AM that same morning.
However that has now been extended, with Galway added from 3AM until midday, while Cork, Limerick and Kerry will now begin an hour earlier and due to end at 10am.
Dublin, Kildare, Meath, Westmeath, Wicklow, Cavan, Louth, Monaghan and Roscommon will have a red alert begin at 6AM on Friday morning, finishing at midday.
Met Eireann have warned of a danger to life as the storm will bring gale force winds.
Schools in affected areas expected to close, and disruption to Public Transport and work.
There's also a risk of Wave overtopping along coastal areas and local flooding.
The National Emergency Co-ordination Group is meeting to discuss the situation and see what precautions will need to be taken.
