A man in his 20s has been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of Quham Babatunde in Dublin two weeks ago, bringing the total number of arrests to five.

It comes as 23-year-old Sean Forde, from Balbriggan, appeared in court today charged with violent disorder in relation to the attack.

Gardaí described the incident as “completely unprovoked,” stating that Mr Babatunde was fatally stabbed after being set upon by a group on South Anne Street in the early hours of February 15th.

The court heard that Forde and his friends had been celebrating Valentine’s night in a VIP booth at a city nightclub before the violence broke out. His friends are alleged to have started the fight, and Forde is accused of jumping in—punching Mr Babatunde as he recoiled from being stabbed.

The victim was then attacked again before suffering a fatal stab wound.

Forde was refused bail and remanded in custody until his next court appearance.

One man has already been charged with murder, while two others are facing related charges. With a fifth arrest now made, the investigation remains ongoing.
