Rain, Sunshine And Temperatures Up To 20c Forecasted Ahead Of Busy Weekend Of Gigs, Festivals And Sport

Following a mixture of sun and scattered showers for this morning, the afternoon is to see more cloudy conditions and evening across the west and south. This will see outbreaks for rain developing, especially in Connacht and Munster. 

Temperatures are to stay between 14 and 19 degrees.

The national forecaster has predicted cloud and scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle for tonight, which will gradually extend eastwards. Ulster is to enjoy the driest, coolest and clearest conditions. Temperatures are to drop to between 7 and 13 degrees.

As for Saturday, the southern half of the country is to be damp and wet, while overnight rain and drizzle will clear south-eastwards.

The northern part of the country will experience sunny spells, with temperatures ranging between 15 and 20 degrees. That night, dry and clear spells are expected. Temperatures are to drop between 8 and 11 degrees.

Sunday is to remain dry, with some showers in Ulster. The showery rain will arrive into the Atlantic counties by the late afternoon.

The midlands is to experience the driest and mildest, both south and east, which will enjoy sunny spells. Temperatures are to range between 11 and 20 degrees.

Outbreaks of rain and showers are predicted for Sunday, spreading to the east overnight. In a mild night, temperatures are to drop to between 11 and 13 degrees.

This week's weather will be mostly dominated by an Atlantic regime, changing in between wet and dry spells, according to Met Éireann.
