Status Yellow Wind & Rain Warnings For 15 Counties

A status yellow wind and rain warning is in place for 15 counties.

Munster, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo will stay under the alert until 3pm.

While a second yellow alert for wind comes into place for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo from 3pm until midnight.

Met Éireann  said strong and gusty southwesterly winds may lead to difficult travelling conditions, fallen trees and lose debris.

Separately, the UK Met Office said strong winds may lead to some disruption across Northern Ireland.

A Yellow warning for wind is in operation for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry until 3pm.

Met Éireann said temperatures will reach highs of 11 to 14 degrees today.

It said the rain will gradually clear eastwards throughout the morning, with scattered blustery showers following for the rest of the day. Some of those showers will be heavy with isolated thunderstorms possible.

Tonight will see a mix of clear spells and scattered showers, which will heaviest and most frequent in the west, with some hail and isolated thunderstorms possible. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees.

Tomorrow will be a fresh and blustery day with sunny spells and showers. Some of these showers in the afternoon and evening will be heavy, with the further possibility of hail and thunderstorms.
