TikTok is enhancing its Family Pairing tools, giving parents greater oversight of their children's activity on the app. The latest update introduces several features aimed at managing screen time and promoting healthier digital habits.
One key addition is Time Away, which allows parents to schedule blocks of time when their teens cannot access TikTok. They will also have increased visibility into the accounts and content their children engage with.
To support better sleep routines, TikTok is launching Wind-Down Mode, designed to encourage younger users to log off at night. If a user under 16 is active after 10 PM, their feed will be interrupted by a full-screen reminder accompanied by calming music. The platform is also testing meditation exercises to help improve relaxation before bedtime.
In addition to these updates, TikTok is reinforcing safety measures through AI-powered age verification and exploring phone provider data to ensure users are in age-appropriate spaces.
These changes reflect TikTok’s ongoing efforts to create a safer, more balanced online experience for young users while giving parents the tools they need to manage their children's digital well-being.
