Speaking about her reasons for finding it difficult to live there, the singer revealed that she suffers from a condition commonly known as SAD, aka seasonal affective disorder. In 2016, she bought a mansion in Los Angeles, reportedly worth $58 million.

Speaking about life in the US, Adele said that she adores the weather.

"I get really bad seasonal depression, so the weather is good for me here", the 'Easy On Me' singer stated. "It is strange sometimes, because I'm very British".

Along with the weather, Adele also said that living in LA, allows enables her to be "left alone".

"For anyone that has never been to LA, you assume it would be the opposite. But there are so many famous people here that they don't waste their time", said Adele.

While she loves her life stateside, Adele did admit to having the occasional battle with homesickness. This also saw the singer speak about a track she wrote in 2008, called 'Hometown Glory', which she said made her "very emotional".

On the song, Adele said, "I really miss London, but I miss the London from before all of this happened in my life", adding that she remembered writing it "like it was yesterday".

She continued, "I wrote it the day after I went to my first ever protest. In London, the UK, we were annoyed at Tony Blair because he was going to war with Iraq".

"It was like a million-people turnout in London, and we're marching, and I was 16, and me and my friend Olivia went. We made our placard, and it felt so powerful".

SAD has been described as a recurrent form of depression, which comes in during Winter, marked by enduring low mood, extreme tiredness, withdrawing from social activity, and increased appetite.
