Beyoncé rejoiced as she finally won Album of the Year at this year's Grammy Awards.
The singer won the prestigious award for her album, 'Cowboy Carter', having been previously nominated for Album of the year award four times, with her most recent nod coming in 2016 with Lemonade.
Her maiden Grammy nomination came in 2008, for her album, I Am...Sasha Fierce in 2008, as well as earning a nomination in 2013 for her self titled album.
This win also sees Beyoncé become the first lack woman to win the Album of the Year since Lauryn Hill's winning record, The Miseduction of Lauryn Hill in 1999.
Beyoncé was nominated for as many as 11 Grammy Awards on the night. More on this here.
When she received this award, Beyoncé told the audience: "I just feel very full and very honoured. It's been many, many years, and I want to thank the Grammys, every songwriter, every collaborator, every producer, all of the hard work".
She added: "I want to dedicate this to Ms. Linda Martell," referencing the trailblazing Black country artist who faced racial barriers in the industry. "I hope we just keep pushing forward, opening doors. God bless y’all. Thank you so much".
Beyoncé was also presented with the Best Country Album award by fellow Album of the Year nominee, Taylor Swift.
"I really was not expecting this. I want to thank God that I'm able to still do what I love after so many years. I’d like to thank all of the incredible country artists that accepted this album. We worked so hard on it", Beyoncé said.
"Sometimes, genre is used as a barrier to limit artists, but I want to encourage people to pursue their passion and stay persistent".
